Meet our gorgeous Leo. This lovely cat has been in our care for a very long time until his amazing new foster mammy found the key to his heart and unlocked so much affection and sweetness in him! He used to be rather shy and even sassy but now we understand that it was coming from a place of uncertainty and lack of trust: he went through a lot of stress when his life changed quite suddenly and struggled to adjust, but with the right approach and in a quiet loving environment his beautiful sweet personality really shone through.
All he wants now is cuddles, kisses, a warm lap during the day and the comfortable and safe feeling of sleeping beside his human friend at night!
The reason why Leo needs to remain strictly indoors in his new home is because he lives with Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). This means that his immune system would struggle significantly more if he was exposed to harmful bacteria or virus, which mainly happens outside or while in contact with other animals. For that reason it would be safer if Leo was the only cat in the house. FIV is not transmissible to humans, and with proper care (yearly vaccine boosters, good hygiene, no exposure to raw meat etc) Leo is expected to live just as long and as comfortably as any other cat.
Currently Leo is 8 years old. He is neutered, treated against internal and external parasites and fully vaccinated, including protection against FeLV virus.
We would prefer if Leo went to an adult-only home or with older kids (over 12) as for his affectionate and loving nature to fully come out he needs a quiet and peaceful environment where he will feel safe.

Adoption Process:
We send an adoption form to confirm whether potential adopter’s circumstances are suitable for taking a cat or kitten. Successful applicants are visited at their residence by our volunteer for a home check. Prior to arranging collection of the adopted cat, we provide their family with advice on how to organise the arrival of their new companion and all best practices to care for the animal. Two copies of an adoption agreement are signed on the day of collection, and adoption fee received.
