Meet our blind superhero – Stevie! ❤️‍🩹

We hate to be biased, but Stevie is the special kitty recently rescued from the petrol station colony we’re helping 🥹
This precious and brave boy was born with a very rare condition called microphthalmia, which results in failure of the eye to develop to normal size. This has left Stevie mostly blind (if not completely).

The fact Stevie survived in such a busy outdoor environment with so many potential threats is truly a miracle. His foster momma is in awe of his resilience and will to live with Stevie’s incredible way of navigating the world! His lack of sight doesn’t hold him back from being a happy, playful, and affectionate kitty, full of purrs 🥰
Stevie really needs a human he can bond with. He loves to lounge on his fosterers lap but also really likes playing with other cats, given he gets to know them at his own pace because making new friends can seem a little threatening for him at first.

Stevie’s condition is currently managed with simple eye drops to avoid any infections. He may need eye enucleation surgery down the line in the event if his pupils start causing him troubles. He is going to need an indoor only home, which can provide him a safe and loving environment 🩵
