Arthur is still waiting.
Arthur is a young Border Collie who came into rescue alongside his siblings after being abandoned and ending up in the pound. While many of his siblings have moved on, Arthur is still here — not because there’s anything “wrong” with him, but because he needs the right home.
Arthur is blind. This was only discovered after he came into care, and it explains just how quietly he’s been navigating the world his whole life. He relies on his other senses and, once he understands his surroundings, he moves through them with confidence and ease.
He is a genuinely affectionate, gentle dog who enjoys company, routine, and calm reassurance. He’s clever, responsive, and learns quickly when given time and consistency. Watching him figure things out is one of those moments that reminds you just how adaptable dogs can be.
Arthur has spent longer than we ever hoped waiting for his chance. At one point, there were plans for him to move abroad to a suitable home — plans he never got to fulfil. Since then, he’s quietly carried on, doing his best, waiting again.
Arthur would suit:
-
a calm, predictable home
-
no young children
-
a secure, enclosed garden
-
someone willing to understand life with a blind dog (it’s far less daunting than people imagine)
He doesn’t need pity. He doesn’t need saving.
He needs someone who sees a capable, loving dog — and chooses him.
Arthur is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready when the right person comes along.
If you’re reading this and wondering why he hasn’t been snapped up yet — we are too. Maybe you’re the one he’s been waiting for.
