We realise just how challenging our task of finding the right kind of home for this beautiful girl is going to be, but we hope with all our hearts that there is that very special human being out there who will find enough love and patience within themselves to give her a chance…

Fuzzy is a gentle and sensitive little soul who for many years didn’t get a chance to learn how to trust humans. She was fed and had an outdoor shelter for about 7 years of her life but was always too timid to approach people. Sadly a few months ago Fuzzy got diagnosed with FIV, feline immunodeficiency virus, so she could no longer live outdoors as her condition makes her more vulnerable to other viruses and harmful bacteria. But the adaptation to the indoor life hasn’t been easy for her.. She doesn’t mind at all not being able to go outside but she does struggle to find her place in a home with humans. Her foster parents are doing a wonderful job teaching her that she can get comfortable, sleep anywhere she wants, that she doesn’t have to hide whenever something unusual happens but Fuzzy is still very timid and gets easily scared. When the conditions are right, she actually allows her foster parents to rub her and purrs a lot. She never scratched or showed any aggression at all, when she is uncomfortable she just hides or goes totally motionless. It’s so sad that she struggles so much to trust us but we just can’t give up on her.. She deserves to find someone who will give her the time and space she needs to very slowly come out of her shell and learn that she can feel safe and loved.

Fuzzy will need a quiet adult-only home without any other animals, unless it’s another FIV-positive cat.
She doesn’t require any medication or special care: cats with FIV live long and healthy lives as long as they are kept strictly indoors (or with access to a fully enclosed escape-proofed catio/balcony). She will also need to be kept up to date on her vaccinations. But overall she shouldn’t require any more medical attention than other cats of her age.

If you are that very special human who can give this little angel a loving home without expecting much in return, please send us a message to adoptions@backintodaylight.com with some information about yourself and your home. We really hope one day she will fully open up to someone who deserves her trust, so please give her a chance! Or if you know somebody who would be the right kind of human for her, please share this profile with them xx

Thank you from everyone at Back Into Daylight Sanctuary!
