More about Liam
Beautiful Liam can’t wait to finally find a stable forever home. He is only a young cat, about 2 and a half, but he has already been through so much and deserves a family who will commit to love him and care for him for a lifetime.
Liam was sold as a tiny kitten by irresponsible people who profit from their purebred cat by selling her babies. He was taken away way too early from his mother and siblings and therefore never learned to have normal and healthy interactions with others. Kittens teach each other boundaries and how to control one’s strenght which unfortunately poor Liam still struggles to fully understand and tends to play rough when he gets too excited. It is not his fault at all, it’s something very typical for cats separated from their family too early. But this means that his new guardians will need to learn how to calm and sooth him when he gets too excited without punishing him for it. He will need to be kept indoors for the initial 6 weeks to allow him enough time to understand that this is his new home, but after the initial period of adaptation he will absolutely need access to a safe outdoor area, ideally through a catflap: giving an outlet to his energy is crucial in managing his emotional needs. We are of course more than happy to give as much guidance as possible to assist Liam’s new family in helping him settle.
Liam is also quite anxious and fears abandonment, as he has been passed from one home to another too many times, so he really struggles with attachment. Therefore he will be much happier in a home where he is not left on his own too long.
Given the challenges described above, Liam can only be adopted into a child-free home that will remain that way. He will need experienced guardians who truly understand cats and are themselves emotionally stable and calm people who can patiently work on building a healthy relationship with their new little friend. He is a very sweet and loving cat but it will take time to work on the challenging parts of his personality, so please only apply to adopt him if you are fully prepared to commit to caring for him and working on understanding his emotional needs. We will be there of course to give assistance and advice.
This will not be an easy journey but this lovely boy deserves a chance and will reward you with his affection and loyalty.
If you can give sweet Liam a stable life filled with love and care, please send us a message at adoptions@backintodaylight.com and tell us a bit about your household and previous experience with companion animals.
